SIBERIAN STEEL has good recent form lines to his credit. He raced from just off the pace over 1200m on the Vaal Classic course last time and stayed on to finish third. He has won twice, finished second twice and third once from nine starts over this distance. He should be involved in the finish once again.

HAWKBILL set the pace over 1700m at the Vaal last time, but found one too good in the form of Guy Gibson. He finished third in his penultimate run on this course. The son of Elusive Fort tries the 2000m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he can return to winning ways.
