Race 3: TUSCAN WINTER (2)
Race 6: WONDERING STAR (5)
Magic Tips Best Bets
Race 1: SILVER WINTER (4)
Jockey: * Declared – Trainer: S Moffat
SILVER WINTER has run three decent races over this distance. She jumped outwards leaving the starting stalls last time, showed pace but was reported to be fatigued post race. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. The daughter of What A Winter gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should keep her mind on the task at hand. She meets the right field this afternoon and should shed her maiden tag.
Race 3: FAR AWAY WINTER (4)
Jockey: D De Gouveia – Trainer: M Azzie
FAR AWAY WINTER was ultra-impressive when winning at the second time of asking. That was his first start as a gelding. The son of What A Winter should love the extra 160m on offer. He does take on stronger, but looks to have class about him and should be up to the task at hand.
Top Bet For Today
Race 6: ABOUT TO STORM (1)
Jockey: R Simons – Trainer: J A Janse V/Vuuren
ABOUT TO STORM lost four lengths leaving the start last time and never got into the race. He returns from a 12-week break which may have done him the world of good. The son of Gimmethegreenlight is the best weighted runner in this contest and if not in need of the run, he should be the horse to beat.
Race 7: ESKIMO PIE (2)
Jockey: C Habib – Trainer: S Tarry
ESKIMO PIE finished 1.2 lengths behind DUKE OF SUSSEX in his last start over this distance on the Vaal Classic course. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He won his only attempt over this C&D. If jumping on terms, he can notch up his fifth career victory.

Race 4: BABY DONT HURT M (6)
Jockey: M Yeni – Trainer: P Peter
BABY DONT HURT ME was not disgraced in her last start over this C&D. She raced from just off the pace, moved up well and was outrun late. The daughter of Twice Over has dropped to a competitive rating and with Muzi Yeni retaining the ride, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
