A small but very competitive Pinnacle Stakes field will face the starter here. AFROSTAR has her peak run today and should have no problems coping with the drop in distance from her last start victory over seven furlongs. It is always encouraging when Gavin Lerena retains the ride.

PIDGEON ROCK deserves a change in luck after having finished second in his last four outings. He cast a shoe in his last start over this distance and had excuses in both his second and third starts. With just a little luck here, he should find himself in the winners box.

Jockey: C Maujean – Trainer: A Soma
TIRZAN finished strongly in his last start over the ten furlongs and will appreciate the extra ground here. He did finish three lengths behind the much improved Horace in his penultimate run over this trip and a repeat of that effort should be good enough to win this contest. He will however be given a test by TOP SHOT, who has recorded two seconds from four starts over this twelve furlongs.
