He drops to the mile and gets a set of blinkers fitted for the first time. If these have the desired effect, he should be involved in the run down to the wire. His one draw is a plus.

MACHALI returns from a 10 week rest, but she has only had the two outings. She showed the expected improvement second time out when asked to go a mile, despite overracing early. She is the only runner on the day from the Candice Dawson yard and gets Warren Kennedy in the irons. If not needing the run, she looks very hard to beat from her good draw.

ANCIENT SPIRIT returns to the Highveld after spending the winter in KZN. She has pulled pole position and a repeat of her penultimate effort over seven furlongs at Hollywoodbets Greyville would see her involved in the finish here. Her latest win over six furlongs on the poly was encouraging.
