Race 3: KREMLIN JUDGEMEN(11)
Jockey: Callan MURRAY- Trainer: Mike DE KOCK
KREMLIN JUDGEMENT was quietly fancied when he produced an eye-catching debut from a poor draw over a similar distance on this course three weeks ago. The grey colt would have come on appreciably from that effort and the runner-up Eight Cities boosted the formline with a comfortable subsequent victory. He should make natural improvement and is drawn best of all.
Race 4: BIG PARADE(9)
Jockey: Callan MURRAY– Trainer: Mike DE KOCK
The Mike de Kock stable holds a very strong hand in this maiden contest and the deserved favourite BIG PARADE gets the nod. This Dynasty colt benefitted from the rest and debut experience as he finished well for 3rd behind Eight Cities and Red Revolution (runs in race 3) over shorter second time out. He will strip much fitter now and should relish the step-up in distance. His stablemate is an erratic type but this bay gelding showed ability albeit in a workrider’s event in his penultimate outing.
Race 7: DAN THE LAD(1)
Jockey: Gunter WROGEMANN- Trainer: Paul MATCHETT
Race 7: DAN THE LAD(1)
Jockey: Gunter WROGEMANN- Trainer: Paul MATCHETT
DAN THE LAD has promising form over similar extended sprint trips and he didn’t disgrace himself from a poor draw when tiring late in a high quality line-up a fortnight ago. He races in much more suitable company today and despite the big mass, the son of Dan De Lago should make full use of the best draw.
Race 9: OSSETRA(1)
Jockey: Randall SIMONS – Trainer: Alec LAIRD
Race 9: OSSETRA(1)
Jockey: Randall SIMONS – Trainer: Alec LAIRD
The lightly raced four-year old filly OSSETRA is a deserved short-priced favourite in this very weak maiden contest over the mile. She has shown promise throughout and has finished runner-up in her last three starts. The daughter of Greys Inn was handed a thrashing in a workrider’s event last time but her conqueror Sabina’s Dynasty boosted that formline when she blew away a quality field next time out. This inmate from the Alec Laird yard is clearly the one to beat.
VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:
Race 8: THE SHREDDER(9)
Jockey: Jarryd PENNY – Trainer: Paul MATCHETT
Jockey: Jarryd PENNY – Trainer: Paul MATCHETT
The Matchett yard holds a decent hand in this competitive affair and rather interesting two entrants place their unbeaten track records on the line. THE SHREDDER hails from the above-mentioned stable and this bay gelding clearly didn’t enjoy the conditions in his disappointing last run in much stronger company. He found his better form prior to that and it is worth noting that the handicapper has kindly docked him four pounds after that last effort. Furthermore, the form of his recent start was boosted when the runner-up Arabian Beat thrashed a decent field next time out. The Alado gelding is well drawn and gets the narrow first verdict.
