BIBLICAL SUSAN found some betting support when she produced a high-class debut in KZN early last month but she was withdrawn when carded to make her Highveld debut two weeks later, due to an abnormal temperature. The imported three-year-old filly finished strongly for 2nd in a competitive line-up over five furlongs at Scottsville and she gave every indication that this extra furlong will suit her perfectly. She would have come on with that experience and should prove tough to beat here.

AL HAMD has posted two useful efforts to date and he made the expected improvement when staying on for 2nd over this c & d, second time out. He has cracked a better draw this time around and the Snitzel colt should continue to improve.
Race 6: NETFLIX(1)
Jockey: Gavin LERENA – Trainer: Lucky HOUDALAKIS
NETFLIX had a poor last experience in the Grand Heritage Stakes but he drops to a more suitable level now & he posted a string of decent performances prior to that. The four-year-old gelding finished well to beat subsequent winner SEVEN SINGLE three runs back and he now meets that rival on 3.5kgs better terms. The top weight should also be aided by a likely sedate gallop in this small field and he can quickly bounce back to form on his peak effort.
Race 7: MIRACLE BUREAU(9)
The day’s topliner is an extremely competitive handicap, featuring some useful sprinters who should fight out a thrilling finish. The light weight MIRACLE BUREAU could hold the key from his pole barrier postion and with top jockey Muzi Yeni in the saddle. This inmate from the Soma yard is best up to six furlongs, which explains his two recent below-par efforts, the latest in the big feature at this venue at the beginning of the month. He is a progressive son of Trippi who should handle the rise in class and merits huge respect. The likely cracking pace will play right into his hands.
Race 5: MY CHERRY(1)
Jockey: S’manga KHUMALO – Trainer: Sean TARRY
The top weight MY CHERRY had excuses for her last flop against male rivals over much further but she is versatile and had pleasing form prior to that, including beating Grade 1 placed runner, Fortissima in her penultimate outing. She made steady progress for 4th in her only c & d showing where she finished just over one length behind MATILDA’S DAUGHTER, whom she now meets on 2.5kgs better terms. The daughter of Kahal has more scope for progress and she can turn things around from her good draw.
