She was slow into stride but ran on well for 3rd and would have come on appreciably from the experience. The runner-up Runalong has finished in the placings in two starts since and this well-related daughter of Silvano has plenty more to offer.

FIRST OFFICER AL prefers racing without blinkers and the speedy son of Captain Al only tired late into 3rd over seven furlongs on this track in his penultimate run. He had a good debut over this c & d and is a big contender in this ordinary field.

Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Mike DE KOCK
EMAAR disappointed in a workrider’s event last time and was understandably given a 16 week break. He showed ability prior to that when going close over ten furlongs in a competitive field in his penultimate run and the rest would have helped his cause. The imported gelding races fresh so the mile won’t be an issue and he clearly has scope for improvement.

Race 4: MYTHICAL MAGIC(10)
This is a competitive maiden contest featuring some useful form runners and this formline could be worth following. MYTHICAL MAGIC had two decent attempts in the Spring and she would have strengthened during her 14-week absence. She ran on in both those attempts, the latest when finishing 3rd behind the quality subsequent Dingaans runner-up, New Predator over this distance at Turffontein. The Sean Tarry inmate now faces her own sex and she should make smart improvement.

FOR SHOW ME ANGEL is improving quickly and there was plenty of merit in her impressive recent maiden victory over this c & d, three weeks ago. She didn’t beat much but the daughter of Mogok has plenty of room for improvement and she could be ahead of the handicapper’s low assessment. It is most encouraging that Strydom retains the ride on the Tony Nassif inmate who could be ready for this steep rise in class.
