Winning Form Best Bets
Race 1: ANGIE THE REBEL(6)
Race 4: LE CLOS(7)
Race 5: IMPERIAL EMPRESS(4)
Race 6: FLAG OF FRANCE(11)
Race 1: ANGIE THE REBEL(6)
Jockey: Lerena G – Trainer: Tolmay W H
ANGIE THE REBEL is lightly raced and she wasn’t disgraced in a feature over this c & d, second time out. She showed good pace on her fair debut prior to that and the daughter of Rebel King now drops in class and has definite room for further improvement. She gets the services of Gavin Lerena and will go really well.
Race 2: MIGHTY MANZI(7)
Jockey: V.D.Merwe J – Trainer: Azzie M G
MIGHTY MANZI showed exactly what he is capable of when he produced a powerful finish to get up and win close to home over this c & d on Supreme Cup day, two weeks ago. He was rather surprisingly upped just the minimum two pounds and as he meets a similar line-up in his peak run, the Mike Azzie inmate looks extremely hard to oppose in this small field. The Windrush gelding still has plenty of improvement to come and the switch to this surface could rescue his career.
Race 4: DON CHRISTO(5)
Jockey: Lerena G – Trainer: Kenny S W
DON CHRISTO is well-related and was fancied in both his pleasing runs on the grass during the winter. However, his conditioner clearly expected more from the son of Kahal who was gelded after his second run and now makes his seasonal debut. He switches to the sand for the first time but Gavin Lerena keeps faith in the four-year old who should make plenty of improvement, if the operation has had the desired effect. The Scott Kenny inmate will be aided by a good draw on his track debut.
Race 5: FASHION SECRET(5)
FASHION SECRET pulverized her maiden opposition over this c & d on her sand debut in her comeback run, three weeks ago. She won by almost ten lengths that day and clearly has plenty more to offer. The daughter of Winter Romance will be fitter now and she could be way ahead of the handicapper’s assessment. She is the only entrant from her stable on this card and can definitely follow-up.
VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:
Race 3: BLUEMOONRUSH(10)
Jockey: Zackey C – Trainer: Houdalakis M N
This is a competitive maiden contest, featuring some fair sand sorts and an exciting finish could materialize. BLUEMOONRUSH relished the switch to the sand as she made huge improvement in her third start on her track debut, two weeks ago. She raced in touch over the minimum trip and after falling back badly, the daughter of Windrush made eye-catching late headway suggesting that she is searching for more ground. Her in-form conditioner has wasted no time in heeding the call and she is expected to love this extra distance. The bay filly is well drawn on her peak run and she can cause the upset.
