Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 2: PAJAMA PARTY(6)
Jockey: Callan MURRAY – Trainer: Michael AZZIE

PAJAMA PARTY
is making up for lost time as the lightly raced four-year-old produced two smart runs at Turffontein in September. He was close-up in 2nd on both those occasions and had his decent stable companion Persian Approval behind him over the mile, second time out. The grey gelding should continue to progress and he holds strong claims on his track debut. He jumps from a midfield draw.

Race 3: CROWN COURT(9)
Jockey: Gavin LERENA – Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

CROWN COURT
produced a high-quality debut effort over this c & d but she did disappoint when trying the mile next time out. She lacked a strong finish in that second start but is clearly capable of better & red-hot top jockey Gavin Lerena has now been summoned on the daughter of Fort Wood. The Mike de Kock inmate is drawn in midfield and she can make amends.

Race 5: CHEPARDO(1)
Jockey: Callan MURRAY – Trainer: Alec LAIRD

CHEPARDO
has been slightly below-par in his two comeback runs but he wasn’t beaten far in the Grand Heritage in that big field recently and now has his peak showing. The Trippi gelding deservedly shoulders top weight in this lesser handicap after the great start to his career but he can get back on track today. He jumps from a handy draw on his track debut. The likely sedate gallop could play into his hands.

Race 7: COMME-CI-COMME-C(1)

Jockey: Raymond DANIELSON – Trainer: Roy MAGNER

COMME-CI-COMME-CA
appears a bright prospect in the making and she should be followed with keen interest this campaign. The Roy Magner inmate landed the betting coup with a smart finish to win her debut over this trip as a juvenile during the winter. She was rested for 13 weeks and then had another exciting effort on her seasonal debut over this c & d, three weeks ago. The daughter of Visionaire took a major leap in class but she finished strongly for a close 3rd behind two top sorts at graduation level. She will strip fitter today and despite shouldering a big mass on her handicap debut, the three-year-old filly could still take all the beating from the best draw.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 4: LIGHT HOUSE LADY(5)

Jockey: Randall SIMONS – Trainer: Lucky HOUDALAKIS

LIGHT HOUSE LADY
benefitted from blinkers as she produced the best finish to beat a fair sort in the maiden ranks over this c & d, three weeks ago. She picked up a huge penalty for that improved performance but has the headgear on once again and should continue to progress. Her yard is in good form and the three-year-old filly should be competitive on her handicap debut.
