Winning Form Comments
SACHDEV ran a very good race when finishing second in the Cape Derby to GOLDEN DUCAT. He finished second in his penultimate start when finishing 0.75 lengths behind COUNT JACK over today’s distance. The manner in which he finished off his run in the CTS 1600m was encouraging. He gets the services of Anton Marcus for the first time and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.
COUNT JACK was an impressive winner on Sun Met day last time. He raced from a handy spot that day and quickened away from the field at the right time. He makes his course debut this afternoon and if suited to the track, should pose a threat to the top choice.
GOLDEN DUCAT won the Cape Derby in fine style last time. He has placed over this distance in the past, but his min mission is likely to be the Daily News 2000 this season. Warren Kennedy takes the ride from a good draw and the combination cannot be ignored.

Winning Form Comments
MISSISIPPI BURNING is the best bet on today’s card. She was ultra-impressive when winning the Grade 1 Cape Fillies Guineas in her last start. She would have strengthened up during her time off the track and looks to be a class above the rest of this field. She jumps from a good draw today and the daughter of Captain Al should take a power of beating.
DRIVING MISS DAISY has finished second in her last two starts. She finished 3 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate race and as the pair meet on the same weight terms, she may have to settle for the same result. She is likely to be switched off early from her wide draw and will be mowing down the frontrunners in the run down to the wire.
KELPIE ran a good race when finishing 1.6 lengths behind Clouds Unfold in the Majorca Stakes. She has an impressive record over this distance having won four times from six attempts. She makes her course debut this afternoon and if suited to the track, she should be right there in the run down to the wire.

Winning Form Comments
KASIMIR got back to winning ways in the Grade 2 Diadem Stakes last time. He does step back over the seven furlongs today, but the manner in which he has been finishing off his races suggests that he will enjoy the extra distance on offer. Anton Marcus does duty for the Justin Snaith stable and the son of Captain Al may be the one to side with here.
VARDY didn’t have much luck in the early stages of the Sun Met last time as he had to check at the 1700m mark. He was an impressive winner of his three starts prior to that. This is obviously a prep run for bigger things to come this season, but he is classy and cannot be ignored.
MATADOR MAN has improved in his last two starts under jockey Warren Kennedy. He has issues at the start, but the manner in which he runs on up the straight is good. Four of his seven wins to date have come on this course and he should run into the money once again.
