Deal or No Deal Overview
Deal or No Deal is a game inspired by the hit television game show of the same name. The objective of the game is to predict whether the amount of money in any of the last of 16 briefcases in total will be higher than that of the banker’s offer. Here we’ll take a more in-depth look at the game and how it works.
The qualification round has a minimum stake of R1 and a maximum stake of R9 000.
The Top Up round has a minimum stake of R1 and a maximum stake of R1 000.
To get access to the game show, you have to qualify first. The qualification round involves a wheel consisting of three rings. Some of the segments on each of these rings are gold in colour. To qualify, place a bet and spin the wheel so that the gold segments align on the upper sector of the wheel as indicated by the arrow. Each spin will cost your selected bet amount.
You can increase your qualification chances by buying one or two rings. After completing your purchase, the rings that you bought will be automatically aligned to the top. The number of rings you wish to align automatically will increase your wager by three times for one ring and nine times for two rings.
Each time you spin the qualifying wheel you increase the amount of money in the best-paying briefcase by 75x – 500x of your bet amount. You can select any one of the briefcases (1-8 on the left and 9-16 on the right) to contain the largest sum of money. The bigger your stake, the larger the amount of money in the briefcases if you qualify.
You can spin the wheel as many times as you want during the qualification round. Each spin of the wheel costs you your selected bet amount.
Top Up Round:
Once you’ve qualified, a TOP UP wheel will appear on your screen. If you’d like to top up the amount of money in the briefcase of your choice by 5x – 50x of your stake, choose your top up amount and spin the wheel!
The Game Show:
During the game show, the banker will open briefcases revealing the number which corresponds to the case that is no longer active in the game. The banker will then make the Deal or No Deal offers to you. Four offers will be made in total. You can either choose to accept the banker’s offer or continue playing in the hopes of winning a larger amount than what the banker is offering. The Game Show portion of the game is divided up into four sections as detailed below:
First opening and offer:
Three of the 16 cases will be randomly opened revealing the amounts of money in each. The banker will then make you a “DEAL or NO DEAL’ offer. Should you choose deal, then the amount of money that you win will be displayed in the on-screen message and will be added to you balance. You will then have the opportunity to qualify for a new round. Should you choose NO DEAL, the game continues. Keep in mind that if do not make a decision within the allotted time, NO DEAL will be selected for you.
Second opening and offer:
Four more random cases will be opened by the presenter which leaves nine for the next phase of the game. Once again, the Banker will make you a DEAL or NO DEAL offer and will await your decision.
Third opening and offer:
The banker will now open four more cases at random leaving five for the next phase of the game. He will then make you another DEAL or NO DEAL offer.
Fourth opening and final offer:
Three random cases are opened next, leaving only two unopened. The banker will make you a final DEAL or NO DEAL offer and wait for you to make your decision. Here you’ll choose DEAL to take the offer which will be added to your balance. Choose NO DEAL to win the prize in the selected briefcase. Select SWITCH BRIEFCASES if you’d like to select the amount in the other briefcase.
During this opening, if you select NO DEAL you will win the amount of money in your assigned briefcase. If you choose SWITCH BRIEFCASES, you will win the amount in the other case.
