Ekurhuleni men’s netball team has been crowned as Males National Championships for the second time in a row after beating Johannesburg A in the final.
The two teams battled it out in the final at Ellis Park Outdoor Courts in Johannesburg on Monday. Ekurhuleni became victorious by 58 goals to 54.
Johannesburg A took the second position followed by West Rand took position three and Capricorn finished in fourth place.
With so many teams participating in this year’s competition, Ekurhuleni came prepared and determined to prove that their 2023 victory was no fluke.
This year’s tournament was the biggest with 67 teams competing across three divisions which are Senior A, B and Under 23s. The teams were drawn from 52 districts across the country.
Ekurhuleni head coach Judy Rathethe had stated before the tournament that they were ready and working hard to maintain high standards.
Meanwhile, in the U23 division, Tshwane took position one after beating Johannesburg A by 43-32.
Cape Town took third position followed by West Rand at position four.
