Speaking at the annual Sponsorship Forum, an event designed to strengthen collaboration between stakeholders and sponsors, Komane underscored the critical role of continued support in driving the sport’s financial sustainability.

Komane reflected on the significant milestones reached under the current administration, including the historic double gold victory by both the Spar Proteas and the men’s team in Namibia in 2024.

She also highlighted South Africa’s ground-breaking achievement in hosting Africa’s first-ever Netball World Cup in 2023, alongside the national U21 team’s qualification for the 2025 Netball World Youth Cup.

These successes, she emphasized, would not have been possible without the unwavering commitment of key sponsors which includes Hollywoodbets.

“We could not have achieved these milestones without the steadfast support of our partners,” said Komane.

“Their invaluable contributions have been central to netball’s success. While we’ve made significant progress, securing further corporate investment is essential to ensuring that netball continues to grow as one of South Africa’s leading sports.”

NSA’s impressive sponsorship portfolio includes renowned partners such as SPAR, Telkom, PUMA, Hollywoodbets, SuperSport, Discovery, Energade/Tyger Brands, the City of Joburg, Gilbert Netball, the National Lotteries Commission, the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, Renault, Southern Sun, Math n Co, and Pick A Rose.

These partnerships have played a pivotal role in advancing the sport both locally and internationally.

The Sponsorship Forum not only celebrated these vital collaborations but also served as a platform for NSA to engage directly with sponsors, gain insight into their needs, and align future strategies.

The event sparked new partnerships and provided valuable discussions on emerging trends in broadcast and commercial rights, positioning netball for sustained growth and success.

Looking ahead, Komane remains focused on ensuring the long-term sustainability of the sport while continuing to develop and support its athletes.

“The journey is just beginning,” she concluded, signaling a bright future for netball in South Africa.
