With only one month left before the Fast5 World Series, Netball South Africa (NSA) has announced players who will be travelling to New Zealand to represent the country.
The World Fast5 Series will take place from 9 -10 November at Wolfbrook Arena, in New Zeeland.
NSA announced players for both women’s and men’s teams on Tuesday.
The announcement has been met with excitement and encouragement from netball fans.
They (fans) expressed their happiness about the players that have been selected.
Mbeko Maano said wished both teams good luck.
“Female the defence is fire. Males Attack and Defence love this. Non-travellers I see Nichole there and on the other side Lutendo high10,” he said.
Thee Julyy Bybe said: “Sanmarie Visser no this year is about to get down girl is a fighter shemm.”
Papirazzi Mphuthi said: “Ooooh I need my girlies Rolene, Ané & Lefebré fully activated on this Fast5 I know they can deliver for us.”
After making her debut last year, exciting talent Nomfundo Mngomezulu did not make it to the squad while Kamogelo Maseko got the nod.
Jeanie Steyn who was the captain last year, also did not make it to the list.
South Africa’s best performance in the Fast5 was in 2022 when they won a silver medal playing against Australia in the final.
The year 2022 was also the first time Australia won the tittle and they retained it again last year, 2023 after delivering a clinical 35-23 win over New Zealand.
Meanwhile, Net Blacks netted their second straight men’s FAST5 Netball World Series crown with victory over their great trans-Tasman rivals Australia.
