This was confirmed during the tournament’s official launch in Gauteng on Tuesday. The Zimbabweans will not be the only new addition, as the Spar Baby Proteas will also participate in the league.

The highly anticipated season will commence on April 26, with the Sun City Superbowl in the North West Province confirmed as the official host.

Netball South Africa President Cecilia Molokwane expressed excitement about the league’s growth, highlighting the opportunities the competition provides for experienced and emerging players to showcase their skills.

“This season, the Telkom Netball League offers an even bigger platform for players to shine,” Molokwane said.

“We’re proud to be associated with a league that develops the next generation of netball champions, giving every player a chance to excel on the national stage.”

The inclusion of the Baby Proteas, who will compete as the 17th team, marks a significant milestone in their development.

This move is part of Netball SA’s “Road to Gibraltar” campaign, which aims to celebrate the team’s journey to the Netball Youth World Cup 2025.

The Baby Proteas’ participation will provide them with invaluable experience and a solid foundation for success on the world stage.

Four-time champions Free State Crinums will aim to defend their Division A title, while KwaZulu-Natal Kingdom Stars will look to prove themselves after missing out on promotion to Division A following their loss to Limpopo Baobabs.
