The Proteas were defeated 59-47 by Jamaica in Kingston in the sides’ second match on Wednesday.

The national teams will play the final Test on Saturday with Jamaica having already secured the series victory.

Head coach Jenny van Dyk expressed disappointment but remained positive, praising Jamaica’s performance.

“They (Jamaica) were clinical, leaving nothing to chance. We are learning what it’s like to play against a world-class team,” said van Dyk.

“There are numerous lessons to take away from this game, and I’m pleased that we were able to win the final quarter.”

Assistant coach Zanele Mdodana noted the Proteas performed better than in their first Test which took place at the weekend.

“I felt they were more energized and focused. We’re giving our players the opportunity to understand what it’s like to compete against the top teams, and the more we play against teams like Jamaica, the better we will become,” said Mdodana.

“We need to learn how to withstand pressure, both physically and mentally.”

The third and final test of the series will take place on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 18:00 Jamaican time.

The final match will be broadcast live on SuperSport Variety 4, DStv channel 209.
