The two teams are set to renew their rivalry after last year’s TNL final match-up, in which the Jaguars ultimately won.

This season saw the Crinums put in extra work to secure their spot in the final. Having suffered one defeat in 12 matches, they finally made it after beating the Gauteng Fireballs 43-39, in a hectic match-up on Monday night.

Speaking on SABC Sports, Free State Crinums coach Martha Mosoahle-Samm said she is expecting a tough final against the Jaguars.

“I am expecting a very tough final with a good display of netball against the Jaguars. It is going to be a good match,” she said.

Meanwhile, Gauteng Jaguars coach Rozanne Matthyse said the team was looking forward to playing their 11th final in the Telkom Netball League.

“We’ve played against them [Free State Crinums] twice already, in the first game we started so slow, we were eight points down and ended up in a draw, and in the second encounter, we beat them.

“So, we’re definitely going back to those matches again to just see where their strengths are and how we can make sure they don’t utilise those.” She added.

The two teams will face off on Wednesday at 18:00pm at the Ellis Park Arena.
