She is a mother, singer, actress and wife to a well-known and loved Springbok player Eben Etzebeth and Hollywoodbets brand ambassador.
This is Anlia Etzebeth who recently celebrated six months of parenthood to their first daughter with Eben.
She is a talented singer who got an opportunity to sing the South African national anthem when her husband played his 100th test match for Springboks in a match against New Zealand in 2021.
Earlier this year she was also announced as the Hollywoodbets brand ambassador together with her husband Eben.
Sharing her journey in the entertainment industry, she said it has always been a dream to become a singer and an actress.
However, it was only in 2019 that she decided to pursue her music dream and released her first single in 2021.
Anlia also made her local television debut in the popular TV series, Getroud Met Rugby as Sasha and her International TV debut in Ridley Scott’s Raised by Wolves.
“It has been an interesting but amazing journey. I am excited about the future, and I have a new song coming out very soon. I want to make beautiful music and be a great wife and mother.
“The entertainment industry has so much to offer, and it goes hand in hand with sports. Now being part of Hollywoodbets, the possibilities are endless,” she said.
She added that it is hard being in the entertainment industry as it has many ups and downs but what she has learnt is that what is meant for you will never pass you by.
“You should just work hard and do your part. Most importantly, know your worth, and stay true to who you are. The industry has a lot of rejection, and you should not let it change who you are.
“Sometimes it is connections that get you somewhere and not always your talent. Study, become a master at your skill, join an agency and do your best. God’s plan for you isn’t always what you may have in mind, but I can guarantee it is better.”
While Anlia wants to make a lot of contributions in the entertainment industry, she said for now she is focused on being a mother and soaking up every moment with her daughter.
“I have dreamed of many roles in my career, but this is by far the best and most important role I will ever play.”
Talking about sports, she said it brings people together and it is a huge thing in our country.
She said she has learnt many great things from her husband (Eben) and she is forever inspired by his hard work, commitment and dedication.
“It is a warrior world filled with sacrifices and understanding but now and then you get to experience something magnificent. I remember the 2023 Rugby World Cup, it was an unbelievable and electric experience.
“What a moment it was when the Springboks won, we had so much to celebrate: The win, our pregnancy and Eben’s birthday.”
