Bulls

The Lions will have it all to do when they tackle a Bulls team in fine form at Emirates Airlines Park on Saturday.

The visitors produced a pretty impressive performance in Wednesday night’s 56-33 bashing of the Griquas in Pretoria. They are now top of the standings and will be favourites to remain in pole position until the end of the regular season.

The Lions drew 44-all in a thrilling midweek encounter in Bloemfontein which sees them fifth, tied with the Pumas on 24-points though with an inferior points difference. With just three games left for them to salvage a playoff berth, a victory is non-negotiable.

Verdict: Bulls

Unfortunately for the men from Jozi, the Bulls should have too much in their locker this weekend.

Sharks v Cheetahs

Sharks
Draw
Cheetahs

The Sharks play a Cheetahs side desperately looking for a third win at Jonsson Kings Park on Sunday.

The Durbanites were forced to forfeit their midweek game against the Pumas due to a Covid breakout in the squad, and as a result, missed out on an opportunity to remain top of the standings. They will want to make up for lost time here.

The Cheetahs though are desperate to force their way back into playoff contention. Their draw with the Lions on Wednesday has done their campaign no favours and nothing short of a win here will be acceptable if they are to have a say yet this season.

Verdict: Sharks

The Sharks will have too much quality for the Cheetahs.

Western Province v Pumas

DHL Stadium

Province
Draw
Pumas

Western Province will continue their quest to break into the top four when they host the Pumas at DHL Stadium on Sunday.

WP are sixth on 22-points, just two points adrift of their opponents this week. A victory here will significantly boost their playoff chances after a rocky season so far.

The Pumas though won’t be an easy beat. Jimmy Stonehouse’s side have enjoyed a good season to date and can yet qualify for what would be an historic playoff place.

Verdict: Pumas

The Pumas are due an upset win and could surprise WP here.
