Friday 2 June

Griquas 2/1 | Draw 25/1 | Western Province 4/10

Handicap
Griquas (+6.5) 17/20 | WP (-6.5) 17/20

Griquas welcome Western Province to Kimberley looking to break into the top four. Last year’s runners-up occupy seventh on 30-points, with the Bulls (sixth), Lions (fifth) and fourth-placed WP all locked on 31-points. A big display here would do their semi-final hopes a world of good.

Province copped a 12-32 loss to the Lions in Cape Town last week and will also be going for a five log points in a quick rebound here. Playing at the notoriously tough Windhoek Draught Park could be a stretch too far for them though.

Griquas to take it at 2/1.

Blue Bulls 1/100 | Draw 40/1 | Griffons 20/1

Handicap
Bulls (-32.5) 17/20 | Griffons (+32.5) 17/20

The Blue Bulls will be out to exact revenge over the Griffons after the Welkom-based outfit’s 32-28 win in the reverse fixture in March. Johan Grobbelaar said as much during the week, with the men from Pretoria sitting sixth and with serious work to do to get into the top four.

The Griffons have enjoyed a solid first campaign back in the Premier Division but this one may prove too steep.

Griffons on the plus.

Pumas v Free State Cheetahs

Odds TBA*

The clash of the weekend takes place at Mbombela Stadium, with the two sides that have led the way for the majority of the tournament locking horns.

After their fast start, the hosts now find themselves in third and in danger of dropping out of the semi-final race. After losing three games in a row, they require a massive push to see off the Free State outfit here.

The Cheetahs are two-points (41) and one place behind the log-leading Sharks and will aim to maintain the pressure on the Durbanites with victory here.

The match will be a close one, but the defending champions should show their mettle and take it by the barest of margins.

Cheetahs on the plus.

Sharks v Golden Lions

The Sharks face the Lions at Hollywoodbets Kings Park on Saturday. Joey Mongalo has done a fantastic job at the helm and they should be able to get the job done at home here.

The fifth-placed Lions are level on points with fourth-placed WP and a loss in Durban will be a hammer blow to their postseason hopes. They picked up a great win in the Cape last week but could come unstuck here.

Sharks on the minus.
