Jason Jenkins

Jenkins was a bit of a menace with ball in hand on Friday. The second rower made 35 metres, thanks largely to four carries across the gainline and continually punched holes through the Ospreys’ defence. The 29-year-old also bagged his side’s first try of the contest after employing a unique trick play in tandem with Bongi Mbonambi.

Andre Esterhuizen

The World Cup winner showed his typical power and determination to score the hosts’ second after taking a lovely Jaden Hendrikse pass and breaking an attempted tackle to cross over right by the sticks. He also made eight tackles, won a turnover and even packed down on the side of the scrum at one stage.

James Venter

Went off with a head kick in the third quarter, but the Gloucester-bound flanker was all-action in his 53 minutes on the park. He finished with seven tackles, four carries across the gainline, 14-carry metres and won a turnover.

Ethan Hooker

Alongside Esterhuizen, Hooker is surely right up there as a leading Sharks Player of the Season contender. Superb under the high ball all evening, the former Junior Springbok added another try to his tally in the second half, but his best moment came in the first when he put in a massive shot on big Dewi Lake to bang the Wales international into touch. What a player.

Phepsi Buthelezi

Phepsi fizzed off the bench for the men in black and white, scoring the bonus-point-clinching try after racing away to score in the left corner. He also showed some immense power from his close-quarter carries and will be a vital asset as the playoffs loom large.
