Writers’ Weekend Treble

Our blog writers are back at with the final weekend treble for January! Get on this weekend at 8/1!

This week’s Writers’ Treble equates to 8/1! The first leg comes courtesy of our English Championship scribe Jason, who is backing Barnsley to see off Rotherham. Our second leg comes courtesy of Aaron who is backing Senegal to win their AFCON quarter-final against Cameroon. While our final leg is a Racing Metro win in the French Top 14 which is tipped by our rugby scribe.

Rotherham 18/10 | Draw 24/10 | Barnsley 27/20

Rotherham were smashed away at Newcastle at the weekend – a result that just about everyone saw coming. It’s back to the drawing board then for a side who look destined for the drop. With a goal difference of -33 after 27 games, it’s difficult seeing them putting up much resistance against the Tykes this weekend.

Barnsley are flying high with their fans dreaming of a potential play-off spot come the end of the season. The Tykes inflicted Leeds’ first defeat in eight games as they ran out 3-2 winners at Oakwell thanks to goals from Tom Bradshaw, Ryan Kent and Conor Hourihane. Barnsley look as though they could beat anyone in the division at the moment. Back them here at 18/10.

Senegal 11/10 | Draw 2/1 | Cameroon 28/10

Tournament front-runners Senegal and Cameroon will clash in what promises to be a cracking contest. The Lions of Teranga made a solid start to the campaign with consecutive victories over Tunisia and Zimbabwe – both 2-0 wins – before settling for a 1-1 draw against Algeria to top group B with seven points.

Cameroon managed to earn a place in the last eight with just one win and two draws from three games. The Indomitable Lions have looked far from their best and will need to dig deep if they are to pull off a smash and grab against Senegal. The Lions of Teranga are dominating matches like no other team in this tournament and with that being said, they are tipped to put Cameroon to bed within the 90-minute market.

Pick: Racing Metro (French Top 14)

Lyon 17/20 | Draw 16/1 | Racing Metro 1/1
There’s not match in way of quality XV’s action on the go this weekend. Which isn’t bad news for French rugby fans as the Top 14 will take centre stage. There’s actually some great value on offer in the French top tier, especially for Saturday’s late night kick-off between 12th-placed Lyon and defending champions Racing Metro. Racing have struggled to recapture the form that saw them claim top honours this year but they should still be able to see of Lyon. Racing talisman Dan Carter has started to hit his straps and if he can dominate the game then racing should claim the win here.

For The Brave

Once again our for the brave segment comes courtesy of this weekend’s price boost. Spurs host League 2 side Wycombe this Saturday, and the hosts, who are likely to field a young side, will be going all out to put a big score over their lowly opponents. We reckon Spurs will do exactly that and put Wycombe to the sword at ‘The Lane’. You can currently get the hosts on the -3 handicap at 5/2.

Adding this market to the treble will boost to 33/1 – get on!
