Melbourne City are a good bet on Friday. They’re second on the Hyundai A-League ladder and are unbeaten in their last three league games, winning twice. Alen Stajcic’s cellar-dwelling Central Coast Mariners are on a nine-game losing run, one short of the 10-game streak they endured in the 2018/19 season under Mike Mulvey. City have lost only one of their last 13 league matches against the Mariners, winning nine and drawing three. The visitors should pile further misery on the division’s worst team.

Sydney FC require just three more wins to get their hands on the Premiership and they would love nothing more than to put the first of those away against bitter rivals Western Sydney Wanderers. The Sky Blues are undefeated in their last seven Hyundai A-League away games with six wins – including four on the bounce. Steve Corica’s side will fancy their chances against the Wanderers but they know it will be a stern test. Sydney FC’s two defeats this season came against the Wanderers. A tight affair is expected, but the leaders should get the job done.

Perth Glory will be desperate to get back to winning ways after going five games without a win. The Glory have lost three times in that run. FC Tokyo beat them 1-0 in the Asian Champions League and they suffered league defeats against Newcastle Jets and Melbourne City. Western United come into this game riding a two-match winning streak after emphatic wins over Central Coast Mariners and Adelaide United. It’s tough to call a result here but Both Teams to Score looks the best bet at 13/20.
