Belarusian Premier League: Week 4 Preview

Week 4 Preview

Football continues as usual for the fourth consecutive week in Belarus despite the rest of Europe currently on lockdown with all levels of football banned.

Priced at 15/2, Slavia Mozyr caused the upset of last weekend, defeating reigning champions Dinamo Brest 2-1, while Belarusian giants BATE picked up their first win against Rukh, however, Energetik-BGU summit the table with three straight wins.

Neman Grodno 9/10
Draw 9/4
Belshina 31/10
Both teams will be desperate for an upturn in form after failing to score in their respective games last time out. Belshina have scored just once this campaign and seem like candidates for relegation. Under 2.5 Goals (Yes) at 5/10 is a solid bet.

Saturday 11 April

Slutsk 5/4
Draw 2/1
Vitebsk 22/10
These opponents both climbed up the log with victories last Sunday with both sides having a player being sent off as well. Slutsk come off a 3-2 win over Isloch, while Vitebsk narrowly edged a 1-0 win at struggling Smolevichi. The last meeting ended 3-0 to Slutsk with Artem Serdyuk scoring twice. Back the home win at 5/4.

Torpedo Zhodino 21/20
Draw 47/20
Energetik-BGU 24/10
Torpedo Zhodino’s two-game winning streak was snapped as they lost 2-0 to Dinamo Minsk. Visiting Energetik-BGU come into the clash with confidence after beginning their season in the best way possible. The last two meetings in the previous game saw a total of nine goals scored. My money is on Over 2.5 Goals (Yes) at 9/10.

Gorodeya 28/10
Draw 21/10
Dinamo Minsk 1/1
Both teams picked up their first points of the season with wins last week Friday. Dinamo Minsk were inconsistent on their travels last season and the seven-time league champions will want to improve on that record. The away win is tipped confidently at even money.

Sunday 12 April

Smolevichi 47/10
Draw 26/10
Shakhter 11/20
Newly-promoted Smolevichi seem like candidates for relegation and host Shakhter who boasted the joint-best defence in the league last season, in Sunday’s first game. Every previous meeting has seen the visitors win and keep a clean sheet. Take Away Win to Nil at 5/4 if you’re looking for more value than the away win at 11/20.

Minsk 32/10
Draw 26/10
BATE 15/20
The hosts had their two-game winning streak snapped after losing 2-0 to in-form Energetik-BGU, while BATE snapped their two-game winless streak by defeating Rukh 1-0. No need to look to the exotic markets in this clash as at 15/20, the away win offers decent value.

Dinamo Brest 15/20
Draw 5/2
Isloch 33/10
Both sides tasted their first defeats of the season last weekend and will be desperate to get back to winning ways. Isloch suffered a 3-2 defeat despite Aleksandr Makas scoring twice. The reigning champions are tipped to claim maximum points on home soil.

Monday 13 April

Slavia Mozyr 11/10
Draw 23/10
Rukh 23/10
Slavia Mozyr pulled off the upset of the last two game weeks, beating champions Dinamo Brest 2-1, impressively following up the 2-1 win over BATE the previous week. Newly-promoted Rukh have lost back-to-back games to Energetik-BGU and BATE, both by a 1-0 margin. My money is on the home win.

TREBLE TIPPED @ 6/1
Slutsk Win 5/4
BATE Win 15/20
Dinamo Brest Win 15/20
