The opportunity to sign Brockie arose at midday on Monday and Jettoo arrived at the Premiership offices just before 11pm to conclude the deal.

The New Zealand star will begin training with his new team on Wednesday after tying up a few loose ends related to the move.

Jettoo said: “It was done today. From around midday, there was an opportunity for us to get Brockie for the rest of the season.

“Obviously in discussion with the coach, the chairman we made a decision that it was a deal that we’d look at and I had to come up and get the deal done.

“I don’t think it was too difficult. It was willing buyer and willing seller type of situation, although it’s just a loan until the end of the season.

“Jeremy wants to play, Sundowns want him to play and when you look at all the chances we’ve missed in the last couple of games, we need a goal poacher. Jeremy was keen to come and that was the most important thing for us. He made it quite clear that he’d want to come.”

The prolific forward will now get the chance to get used to his teammates during the FIFA international break.
