The Premier League took a break last weekend as a sign of respect following the passing of the Queen. Officials have confirmed that the fixtures will resume today, albeit in a limited capacity.

Tottenham are one of only two clubs yet to taste defeat in the league this season. Conversely, Spurs’ opponents this weekend, Leicester, have lost their previous 5 league outings – no topflight club is on a longer losing streak. The Foxes and Everton are the only cubs yet to win a league fixture this campaign.

Everton have an xG against of 10.3 but have conceded just six goals this term- a stat that underlines Jordan Pickford’s importance to the side. Lampard’s men boast the largest difference between xG against and goals conceded in reality.

In a reduced fixture weekend, here are a few players who could rise to the occasion.

Lingard’s struggling to make an impact at Forest

Nottingham Forest come into their clash against Fulham off the back of three straight defeats. Summer signing Jesse Lingard is yet to replicate the stunning form which catapulted him back into the England national team picture during the 21/22 season. During his 16 league appearances for West Ham United, Lingard (G9 A4) registered 13 goal involvements. Across his five league appearances this term for the Premier League newcomers, the attacker has attempted just five shots – with only one of them being on target. Allegedly earning rockets, the Milly Rocking Englishman needs to start delivering.

Saint-Maximin to fill his boots against Bournemouth?

Allan Saint-Maximin netted five league goals last term – all five of which came on home soil. The attacker has an affinity for fixtures at St James’ Park and could fill his boots at home this weekend. The Frenchman has returned a goal from his six shots and two assists from his nine chances created this term. Newcastle come up against a Bournemouth team who have conceded 15 goals across their three away league outings this term.

Dasilva enjoying breakthrough Premier League season

Josh Dasilva has returned two goals across his six league outings for Brentford this season. The midfielder failed to provide an attacking return across his nine league appearances in the previous season but looks to be making up for lost time. The ex-Gunner comes up against his former employers at the Gtech Community Stadium this weekend. The Bees have seen defeat just once across their seven outings this season across all competitions. Will Dasilva find any joy against his former employers?

Gray in search of goals

Demarai Gray (G5 A4) was involved in nine goals across his 34 league appearances for Everton last season. The forward hasn’t quite delivered this season but has shown some promise. Gray has attempted nine shots across his previous three home league appearances, with five of those being on target. The 26-year-old opened his account for the season on home soil and could follow that up when the Toffees host the Hammers this weekend.

Son’s struggles

Heung-min Son still has nothing to show for his 17 efforts this season. The South Korean shared the Golden Boot with Mo Salah last season, but is yet to open his account this time around. Across his previous three home league outings, the forward has attempted 11 shots, hitting the woodwork twice. Furthermore, he has created 10 chances during that period, bagging a solitary assist. Tottenham come up against a Leicester team who have shipped 11 goals across their previous three away league outings. Will he break his duck this weekend?
