Europa League: Matchday One Multiple

Matchday 1 Multiple

The 2019/20 Europa League campaign gets underway on Thursday 19 September, and our Editor has picked out a six-leg multiple bet, which includes Premier League giants Manchester United and Arsenal.

APOEL 3/10
Draw 38/10
Dudelange 9/1

APOEL Nicosia host Dudelange in a Group A tie at the Neo GSP Stadium on Thursday at 18:55 (SAST). The Cyprus champions are second-favourites to reach the Round of 32 stage alongside Sevilla, who are favourites to top Group A. APOEL gave Ajax all they could handle in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers and with home advantage, they should beat the Luxembourg outfit here.

Qarabag 47/10
Draw 3/1
Sevilla 11/20

Qarabag face a daunting task against Sevilla in the other Group A matchup. The Spanish side will be looking to win a record-extending sixth title, having enjoyed unprecedented success in this competition winning the tournament five times since 2006. Back Sevilla to leave Azerbaijan with maximum points.

Dynamo Kiev 6/10
Draw 28/10
Malmo 9/2

Dynamo Kyiv welcome Swedish club Malmo to Ukraine in a Group B clash on Thursday. The Ukraine outfit are favourites to top the group at even money, while Malmo are the third favourites (9/2), behind Copenhagen (2/1) and above Lugano (9/1). Dynamo Kiev always give a good accounting of themselves and I fancy them to come out on top.

Eintracht Frankfurt 39/20
Draw 5/2
Arsenal 5/4

Arsenal will kick-off their Europa League campaign with a trip to Eintracht Frankfurt in Group F. On paper, it appears as though this will be the Gunners’ sternest test. The German club are a tough side, having made it to the semi-finals of this competition last year – losing to eventual winners Chelsea on penalties. However, they did lose their two lethal frontmen, Sebastien Haller and Luka Jovic. Unai Emery is a master of the Europa League, having won this competition three times in a row with Sevilla and reached the finals last season. The Gunners are much stronger this season and will look to go all the way this time. Back the English club to come away with maximum points.

Wolves 13/20
Draw 26/10
Braga 17/4

First up for Wolves is a home match against Portuguese side Braga, with their Portuguese contingent – which includes Rui Patricio, Diogo Jota, Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho – returning to their homeland. Although Nuno Espirito Santo will be confident his side can claim three points in their first fixture, he will know that European football is a different beast to the Premier League. This will be a tough game as Braga smashed Brondby 7-3 in the third qualifying round to secure their place in the Europa League. I foresee a tight affair, but with the Molineux rocking, I’m backing a win for the competition debutants.

Man United 2/13
Draw 6/1
FC Astana 16/1

Winners of the tournament under Jose Mourinho in 2017, Manchester United are back in the Europa League after failing to secure a top-four finish in the Premier League last season. The Red Devils, who are favourites to win the competition this season, host Astana of Kazakhstan in their Group L opener. The last time they played in the Europa League, United came out victorious and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will hope to emulate that performance once again. After all, winning the competition will guarantee them a Champions League spot. I’m expecting a comfortable victory for Solskjaer’s side. You can take them on the (-1) Handicap at 9/20 or be more adventurous and back them to Win By 3 or More Goals at 12/10, using the Winning Margins market.

MULTIPLE TIPPED @ 16/1
APOEL Win 3/10
Sevilla Win 11/20
Dynamo Kiev Win 6/10
Arsenal Win 5/4
Wolves Win 13/20
Man United (-1) Handicap 9/20
