Fourth Round Preview

Our football pundit previews the FA Cup fourth round fixtures involving the Premier League big teams which kicks off on Friday 26 January 2018.

With holders Arsenal crashing out of the FA Cup – losing 4-2 to second-tier Nottingham Forest – there’ll be a new winner of the prestigious tournament. We see how the Premier League’s big boys will do in the fourth round fixtures this week.

Friday 26 January

Yeovil Town 17/1 | Draw 13/2 | Manchester United 1/8
The mighty Manchester United visit League Two side Yeovil Town, the lowest-ranked side left in the FA Cup, on Friday night. Jose Mourinho’s men, who are targeting a 13th FA Cup win, are overwhelming favorites to progress to the fifth round.

This will be the second time in three years that United will face Yeovil Town in the competition. The two sides last met in January 2015 when United won 2-0 in the third round under previous manager Louis van Gaal. Mourinho’s men are riding a four-match winning streak and they should prove too strong for the Glovers. Take them on the (-1) Handicap at 4/10.

Saturday 27 January

Newport County 13/1 | Draw 6/1 | Tottenham 1/6
Eight-time winners Tottenham travel to League Two outfit Newport County on Saturday evening. Spurs are strongly fancied to see off their opponents, especially as Mauricio Pochettino fielded a strong line-up in the 3-0 third round win over Wimbledon, showing he wants to end the club’s 10-year wait for a major trophy.

Newport County, who knocked out Championship side Leeds with a 2-1 victory, will be hoping to cause an even bigger upset. But Spurs should have too much quality for the minnows. Take them to be leading half-time at 5/10.

Liverpool 3/10 | Draw 9/2 | West Brom 17/2
Seven-time winners Liverpool will host top-flight rivals West Brom in Saturday’s late kick-off. These sides have faced off 10 times in the competition, with the Reds winning three, their opponents four and there being three draws.

Jurgen Klopp’s men were held to a goalless draw when the Baggies visited Anfield in the Premier League last month. But since then, the Reds have won four in a row at their fortress and I fancy them to oust the Baggies this time. For more value, take Liverpool to Win & Under 3.5 Goals at 7/10.

Sunday 28 January

Chelsea 4/10 | Draw 36/10 | Newcastle 6/1
Last season’s FA Cup finalists Chelsea welcome Newcastle and former boss Rafa Benitez to Stamford Bridge in an all-Premier League affair on Sunday. The Magpies’ woeful record at Chelsea is the stuff of nightmares for the travelling Toon Army. The Blues have won their last five meetings against the visitors, scoring 15 goals and conceding twice.

The sides met in the league last month with Eden Hazard scoring twice to inspire Antonio Conte’s side to a 3-1 win at the Bridge. The Belgian was also brilliant last weekend in Chelsea’s 4-0 victory at Brighton. I’m backing a comfortable win for the Blues. Get them at 19/20 on the (-1) Handicap.

Cardiff City 8/1 |  Draw 9/2 | Manchester City 3/10
Runaway Premier League leaders Manchester City travel to South Wales to take on Cardiff City on Sunday. It’s a daunting test for Neil Warnock and his troops as Pep Guardiola’s star-studded side have been frightening this season.

The Bluebirds, who are third in the Championship, failed to beat 17th-placed Sheffield Wednesday last Saturday, drawing 0-0 at the Hillsborough Stadium. It was the same day Sergio Aguero netted a hat-trick to give the Citizens a 3-1 victory over Newcastle at the Etihad. The away win is tipped confidently.

MULTIPLE @ 8/1
Man United (-1) Handicap 4/10
Tottenham HT Win 5/10
Liverpool Win & Under 3.5 Goals 7/10
Chelsea (-1) Handicap 19/20
Man City Win 3/10
