Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies are the Hollywoodbets Super League champions, this time with four games to spare. Sundowns wrapped up the 2022 league title after thrashing Coal City Wizards 9-0 on Wednesday afternoon.
Masandawana needed three points in their mid-week fixture to claim the league they’ve won back-to-back. They went about it in style and total dominance again this campaign, winning 23 out of the 26 games they have played so far, drawing once, and losing twice. Sundowns have scored 104 goals and conceded just 11.
It wasn’t as easy sailing this time, though, with TUT and JVW pushing them hard all season.
The 2022 CAF Women’s Club of the Year technically confirmed their league defence after defeating JVW by 2-0 last weekend at the Wits Stadium.
JVW are on 45 points, with eight games to go until they finish the season; even if they won them all, they wouldn’t be able to reach the 70-point mark.
Sundowns will clash with First Touch FC at 11:00 on Saturday at the Bidvest Stadium for their next game.
