South Africa kicked off their Group K matches with a 2-2 draw with Uganda and 3-2 victory over South Sudan.

But Bafana needed a stoppage time goal to secure their Uganda draw, and also left it late to beat South Sudan.

They next face Congo at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Friday and again at Stade Alphonse Massamba-Debat on Tuesday.

Maximum points from their next two games will see Bafana qualify for the AFCON finals in Morocco.

“We didn’t see that in the last two games, I was not happy with the performances, we were lucky twice,” Broos told members of the media.

“I want to see another South Africa in the two games in front of us.

“This is normal in a way. The last two years has been a good news show with South Africa.

“We played well and got good results, qualified for the Afcon where we got a bronze medal. Then there was the (friendly) game against Algeria (a 3-3 draw), and then the games (World Cup qualifiers) against Nigeria and Zimbabwe.

“After that it is normal to have a dip, but we have to look at it not becoming a problem.

“So I will talk to the players and I want to see another South Africa against Congo, a South Africa that shows confidence and that dominates. I am sure if we achieve that we will also get six points.”

Thalente Mbatha bagged both of South Africa’s late goals, against Uganda and South Sudan, but has been ruled out of these two games with injury.

Bathusi Aubaas has since been called up to replaced Mbatha, while Sinoxolo Kwabiya was called up following Jayden Adams’ exclusion for disciplinary issues.

Meanwhile, Broos has confirmed late call-ups for Sinoxolo Kwayiba and Bathusi Aubaas as replacements for Jayden Adams and Thalente Mbatha.

“Jayden Adams is replaced by [Sinoxolo] Kwayiba – why? I will not give so much comment about that, but the behaviour of Jayden forced me to put him out of the team.

“A good professional attitude is the – ja, if you ask something about a player, it’s that they are professionals, so if I feel that a guy doesn’t have that attitude, then for me it’s done.

“He’s not a guy who is 16, he’s not an old player either, but if he has the attitude that he had, the only thing I can do is get him out of the group, because this is not what I want from players.

“In the past months, several times I said, ‘What a group I have.’ I was so happy with the group – the right attitude, the right behaviour, professional, and everything you want.

“So, I can’t afford to let someone in that doesn’t have that attitude anymore, so it’s up to Jayden now to think about it, on what he’s going to do with his future.”
