Bafana Bafana are coming off the back of a 4-0 drubbing of Sierra Leone on Saturday at FNB Stadium where Themba Zwane made a dazzling return to international football with a brace.

Bafana played Botswana only two matches ago in the COSAFA Cup fifth place playoff, which a second-string side under assistant Helman Mkhalele’s watch coming away with a 2-1 victory. Antonio van Wyk (34′ ) and Selaelo Rasebotja (80′ ) scored for Bafana, while Thato Kebue scored in the third minute of stoppage time for Botswana, who had Odirile Lekoba sent off in the 79th minute.

The Cranes will be looking to prepare well against Bafana for their upcoming back-to-back Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in March as they sit bottom of group J. Mogomotsi Mpote’s last match was indeed against Bafana.

Hugo Broos, who must have been eating humble pie after consistently having overlooked two-goal hero Zwane, will play a double-header against Liberia in their AFCON qualifiers in March.

The crowd turnout for the Sierra Leone clash was quite disappointing but the good performance by Bafana should see more fans in attendance at the same.
