Italian Serie A: Week 34 Preview

Serie-A-Preview

Our Serie A tipster previews gameweek 34 of the 2016/17 Italian top-flight.

It’s a big weekend ahead with the top five times all involved in some mouth-watering affairs! Last weekend proved to be a profitable one with yours truly picking seven out of 10 winners. I’m in red-hot form and I feel confident going into round 34!

Friday 28 April

Atalanta 47/20 | Draw 9/4 | Juventus 23/20
Atalanta have been a surprise package this season and currently find themselves placed fifth on the standings, just a point behind fourth-placed Lazio. La Dea have won 11 of their last 16 matches and are unbeaten in their last five games.

However, they came up against the table-toppers – Juventus. The Old Lady have been nothing short of brilliant this season. They have won all their home games, while claiming 10 wins from 16 travels. Juve have won the last 14 meetings against Atalanta and are tipped to make it 15 at 23/20.

Saturday 29 April

Torino 6/10 | Draw 32/10 | Sampdoria 36/10
Torino and Sampdoria will clash in the opening Serie A game on Saturday. The hosts are unbeaten in their last five matches with two wins and three draws and have suffered just one defeat on their grounds all season.

Sampdoria have been poor of late with back-to-back losses and have travelled poorly. The last two meetings between these sides in Turin have seen the home team claim maximum points. Back Torino for the win.

Sunday 30 April

Roma 8/10 | Draw 26/10 | Lazio 31/10
We get things underway on Sunday with a fierce rivalry between Roma and Lazio. The sides share the Stadio Olimpico and judging by stats, Roma have done better at the ground this season with 14 wins from 16 games, compared to 11 wins from 17 matches.

The Giallorossi are off the back of a 4-1 victory away to Pescara, while Lazio hammered Palermo 6-2 at home. Both sides are scoring goals at will so it would be fitting for Both Teams To Score First Half at a valuable 43/20!

Crotone 28/10 | Draw 51/20 | AC Milan 9/10
Crotone are fighting with everything they’ got for survival in Italy’s top flight. The relegation candidates are five points off safety but have shown plenty of progress in recent weeks with three wins from their last four matches.

AC Milan are up next and come to town off the back of a disappointing 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Empoli. The home side have been the better team in recent weeks but the Rossoneri have plenty of goals in them. Get on the Double Chance and Both Teams To Score – Home-Draw/Yes – at 7/4.

Genoa 13/20 | Draw 28/10 | Chievo 39/10
Genoa have been in horrendous form in recent weeks with five losses from their last six matches, scoring just twice and conceding 16 times. And by the looks of their record of four wins from 16 games on their ground, playing on home soil doesn’t make much of a difference.

Chievo haven’t been any better with five consecutive losses, scoring only three times and conceding 15 times. With both sides struggling to score goals, the Totals market – Under 2.5 Goals – looks well worth a punt at even money.

Palermo 52/10 | Draw 36/10 | Fiorentina 9/20
Relegation-bound Palermo look as though they have given up hope surviving the fall to Serie B. They have been terrible with eight losses from their last 10 and have registered just one win from 16 home games.

Fiorentina have won four of their last six matches, including an impressive 5-4 victory against Inter Milan at home last time out. By the looks of things, the Viola have plenty more goals in them, so get on the away team to score in both halves even money.

Empoli 21/20 | Draw 47/20 | Sassuolo 51/20
Empoli are just five points clear of relegation and have just started to find some good form with back-to-back wins. The Azzurri pulled off a shock 2-1 victory last time out, edging AC Milan at the San Siro Stadium.

Sassuolo did well to hold Napoli to a 2-2 draw at home in round 33, stretching their unbeaten run to three matches. Goals look a certainty here – get on Both Teams To Score at 13/20.

Bologna 13/10 | Draw 9/4 | Udinese 21/10
Bologna will take on Udinese at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara on Sunday afternoon. The home side have been poor in recent weeks with three losses from their last four matches, while Udinese have been excellent with four wins from their last six games.

There’s no question home advantage will give Bologna a certain edge but they look rather toothless at the moment. Get on the Udinese win/draw Double Chance at 11/20.

Cagliari 6/10 | Draw 33/10 | Pescara 7/2
Cagliari have been fairly decent on their ground but their lack of consistency has costs them this season. Their opponents, Pescara, are almost dead and buried at the foot of the table with just 14 points after 33 games.

The away side have lost 12 of their 16 travels, scoring 15 goals and conceding 37 times. Let’s cut to the chase – at 6/10 the home win is tipped confidently.

Inter Milan 2/1 | Draw 5/2 | Napoli 12/10
Inter Milan and Napoli will wrap things up with what promises to be a thrilling contest. Both sides dropped points last week, with Inter Milan going down 5-4 in an entertaining nine goal thriller, while Napoli were held to a 2-2 draw at Sassuolo.

Inter have been strong on their ground with 10 wins from 16 matches and Napoli have been just as good on the road. Both sides are strong in attack and score goals with ease. Keep this one simple and take Over 2.5 Goals at 5/10.

TREBLE TIPPED @ 6/1
Juventus Win (23/20)
Genoa v Chievo – Under 2.5 Goals (1/1)
Cagliari Win (6/10)
