Sources close to the Brazilian forward have reportedly revealed the staggering proposal to Reuters, highlighting the Saudi Public Investment Fund’s (PIF) ambitious plans.

The PIF, which owns Premier League club Newcastle United, are keen to entice the 24-year-old forward away from Madrid.

They aim to secure Vinicius with a five-year contract, promising him €200 million per season plus additional bonuses, potentially making it the most lucrative player transfer ever.

Beyond the footballing terms, the PIF are also interested in making Vinicius an ambassador for the 2034 FIFA World Cup, which will be co-hosted by Saudi Arabia.

This role would be associated with a separate 10-year contract, though specific financial details of this position are still under negotiation.

Although no formal offer has been made yet, Vinicius is reportedly open to the move. He has given permission to the PIF to approach Real Madrid, as he and his representatives consider the enormity of the offer.

Despite this, the player remains “happy and motivated” in Madrid, where he is a key figure for the club.

Real Madrid, however, have indicated they are not interested in entertaining negotiations involving a buy-out clause. The club has maintained that the clause remains non-negotiable.

Saudi Arabia’s desire to elevate its footballing stature is evident, as evidenced by their recent spending spree. In 2023, the kingdom made waves by acquiring Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain for £77 million.

Saudi-backed clubs, including those under PIF’s influence, have been significantly increasing their spending, as seen with Newcastle United.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Al Nassr, earning €200 million per year, remains the closest comparison to the proposed deal for Vinicius. However, Ronaldo’s contract is shorter in duration.

Vinicius Junior has made an impressive impact at Real Madrid with 83 goals and 73 assists in 264 appearances.
