Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has downplayed mounting pressure and speculation surrounding his future, insisting he remains fully committed to the club.
Despite an impressive tenure since his return to Madrid in 2021, which includes two La Liga titles and two Champions League triumphs, this season has presented significant challenges for the Italian coach.
Real Madrid’s recent Champions League quarter-final defeat to Arsenal, coupled with a four-point deficit behind league leaders Barcelona with six matches remaining, has intensified scrutiny.
The loss to Arsenal has reignited speculation regarding Ancelotti’s future, with reports linking him to the Brazil national team job.
Additionally, Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso has emerged as a potential candidate to succeed him at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Addressing the media, Ancelotti acknowledged the difficulties of the current campaign but reaffirmed his satisfaction with his position.
“The club is aware that this year has been more complex than the last,” he said. “We face these challenges together. My relationship with the club remains strong, and I am very happy here.”
Far from being deterred by external pressure, Ancelotti described it as a source of motivation rather than concern.
“As the prospect of success grows nearer, it is natural for stress levels to rise. For me, stress is not an obstacle is a source of energy. It encourages me to think more critically and work more creatively.”
He concluded with a note of personal resilience: “As long as I continue to rise in the morning, all is well.”
Ancelotti’s composed demeanour and steadfast focus suggest that, despite the external noise, he remains undeterred in guiding Madrid through the remainder of the season.
