Barcelona skipper Sergio Busquets has dismissed reports that he would be leaving the club this summer.
The 34-year-old Busquets is in his 15th season at Barcelona and still a first team starter. His contract is up at the end of the 2022/23 La Liga season.
A report earlier this week by Diario Sport, claimed Busquets was looking at making a change in 2023 with a possible move to David Beckham’s Inter Miami in the MLS.
But Busquets has shot down the speculation in an interview with Marca.
“I can’t tell you anything because there’s nothing, it’s just rumours”, Busquets told Marca.
“There’s nothing official. I’ll see how I’m doing this season.
“It’s clear I’m not 20 years old any more. This is the last year of my contract, but things have been called ‘official’, and they’re false,” he added.
The Barcelona midfielder is the third most capped player for Spain. He recently overtook his manager Xavi Hernandez, but is unlikely to catch Iker Casillas or Sergio Ramos before his retirement.
