PREVIEW: Relegation-bound Elche take on Girona, Getafe host table-topping Barca in Laliga week 29

With just 10 games left in Laliga, the pressure is on from the top of the table to the bottom. Barca failed to capitalize on the Real Madrid stumble, but still have a healthy points gap.

Friday 14 April

Rayo Vallecano 11/10 | Draw 23/10 | Osasuna 26/10 (21:00)

Rayo Vallecano entertain Osasuna to kick off the La Liga action this Friday. Having failed to win any of their last eight league fixtures overall and struggling to pick up a home victory since early February, Vallecano are bound to struggle here. I’m backing the away side Double Chance Draw/Win at 13/20.

Saturday 15 April

Villarreal 4/10 | Draw 39/10 | Valladolid 6/1 (14:00)

Villarreal is as certain as they come this gameweek, winning their last three fixtures, including two clean sheets and a 3-2 comeback victory over Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Athletic Bilbao 5/4 | Draw 22/10 | Real Sociedad 47/20 (16:15)

Real Sociedad bounced back after a demoralizing defeat to Villarreal in the pursuit of Champions League football next season with a win over Getafe. With Bilbao’s poor home form, Sociedad are bound to pick up three points.

Real Betis 17/20 | Draw 26/10 | Espanyol 34/10 (18:30)

Real Betis have not enjoyed the form they showed under Manuel Pellegrini last season and a win over Espanyol could reinvigorate their last nine fixtures of the season, and with Espanyol’s five match-losing streak, the home win at 17/20 holds value.

Cadiz 5/1 | Draw 33/10 | Real Madrid 11/20 (21:00)

Cadiz surprised many with an away win over Real Betis, just like the shock of Real Madrid suffering a home defeat to Villarreal, but something similar happening this matchday is highly unlikely. Back the away side to apply pressure on Barcelona.

Sunday 16 April

Girona 6/10 | Draw 31/10 | Elche 44/10 (14:00)

Sunday’s action starts off with a banker as rock-bottom Elche take on Girona who will enter this game high on confidence after holding Barcelona to a goalless draw at Camp Nou last Monday. At 6/10, the odds are not intriguing, but you can add the home team to all multiples.

Getafe 5/1 | Draw 31/10 | Barcelona 11/20 (16:15)

Barcelona have invited the pressure in the final run in for the La Liga title with a 0-0 draw at home last time out. Getafe should be a tough customer as they hover just three points above relegation, but it seems like the pressure is beginning to mount after losing a four-match unbeaten streak last matchday. Back Barca.

Atletico Madrid 2/7 | Draw 48/10 | Almeria 9/1 (18:30)

Atletico Madrid are the in-form La Liga team, racking up six straight wins and an unbeaten run of 12 La Liga fixtures. Although Almeria are fighting to just barely float above relegation, they keep conceding goals – two or more in eight of their last 10. Atletico to win and over 2.5 goals at 6/10.

Valencia 12/10 | Draw 47/20 | Sevilla 49/20 (21:00)

A win over Valencia could see Sevilla maintain an eight-match unbeaten run over the home side and add much-needed breathing room from relegation. The draw/win Double Chance on the away side at 6/10 is for the multiples.

Monday 17 April

Celta Vigo 9/10 | Draw 23/10 | Mallorca 7/2 (21:00)

On Monday night, Celta Vigo entertain Mallorca attempting to keep a seven-match unbeaten run intact. Although Mallorca are just two points adrift Celta, their recent form puts them at losing odds. Back the home side.

QUAD @ 5/1
Rayo Vallecano Win/Draw 13/20
Villarreal Win 4/10
Girona Win 6/10
Sevilla Win/Draw 6/10
