The challenge for a spot in the top four will also be tightly contested with Villarreal, Real Betis and Real Sociedad seeking Champions League places after missing out last season.

Friday 12 August

22/10 Osasuna | Draw 21/10 | Sevilla 14/10 (21:00)

The round of matches kicks off in Pamplona on Friday night as Sevilla travel to the El Sadar Stadium to take on Osasuna. Julen Lopetegui’s side finished fourth last season, a huge 16 points behind champions Real Madrid and will aim to make a winning start as they look to mount a serious title challenge this term.

The Andalucians have signed Spanish playmaker Isco and brought in defenders Marcao and Alex Telles to help make up for the departures of Jules Kounde and Diego Carlos. Osasuna who finished in 10th position last season will be aiming to cause the first upset of the new season. The away win is available at 14/10 – that’s simply too good to pass up.

Saturday 13 August

19/20 Celta Vigo | Draw 51/20 | Espanyol 29/10 (17:00)

Celta Vigo kick off their new league campaign at home to Espanyol on Saturday afternoon. Celta won this fixture 3-1 last season and will be hoping for the same outcome against the Catalan side that registered just one away win last season. Back Eduardo Coudet’s team to get off to a winning start.

28/10 Real Valladolid | Draw 51/20 | Villarreal 19/20 (19:00)

Villarreal will look to put last season’s disappointment of missing out on a top six spot behind them as they aim to make the perfect start with a win over newly-promoted Valladolid.

The team owned by Brazil legend Ronaldo will be dreaming of an opening day upset, but Unai Emery’s men should have enough quality to bag all three points. The last time these two sides faced each other was in the 2020/2021 season, with the Yellow Submarine completing a league double over the Castilian-Leon side. The away win is tipped confidently.

2/9 Barcelona | Draw 56/10 | Rayo Vallecano 11/1 (21:00)

Barcelona will go into the new season with an improved squad as they look to go one better than their second place in 2021/22.

The Blaugrana have made some big additions in the transfer window with the likes of Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski and Jules Kounde all coming through the door. The Catalans will be hoping to get their season off to a flyer, but they’ll need to be wary of the upset-threat posed by Rayo Vallecano who beat them both home and away last season. Back Barca to win this time, with the Matchbet + Totals – Barcelona & Over 2.5 at 13/20.

Sunday 14 August

43/20 Cadiz | Draw 22/10 | Real Sociedad 14/10 (17:30)

Real Sociedad get their season underway at Cadiz on Sunday and will look to make a winning start as they aim to better last season’s sixth place finish.

The Basque side head into this game with confidence sky high having won all four of their meetings with the Andalusian club since they earned promotion in 2020/2021. 14/10 about the away win is generous pricing by Hollywoodbets. Get on.

8/10 Valencia | Draw 26/10 | Girona 34/10 (19:30)

Valencia will begin the new LaLiga season with a home game against top flight newcomers Girona. The Bats had a season to forget in 2021/22 and will look to improve on last season’s ninth place finish under new manager Gennaro Gattuso.

Girona will be hoping to spring a surprise on their opponents, but the Catalan club may be unsettled in front of a packed crowd at the Mestalla. I’m going to go with the home win – tentatively so.

56/10 Almeria | Draw 42/10 | Real Madrid 4/10 (22:00)

Real Madrid will kick off the defence of their LaLiga title away to Almeria who return to the Spanish top-flight after a seven-year absence. The European champions are clear favourites heading into this one and will seek to get off the mark in dominant fashion.

Unsurprisingly, Carlo Ancelotti’s team have won the last five meetings against Almeria emphatically. Back them using the Matchbet + Totals – Real Madrid & Over 2.5 at 17/20.

Monday 15 August

13/20 Athletic Bilbao | Draw 28/10 | Mallorca 48/10 (17:30)

Athletic Bilbao welcome Mallorca to San Mames where they have won the last five encounters against the Palma based side.

Ernesto Valverde’s side, who finished eighth in La Liga last season, will be confident of claiming all three points against a Mallorca team who are expected to be involved in another relegation fight this season. Back the home win.

34/10 Getafe | Draw 23/10 | Atletico Madrid 19/20 (19:30)

Atletico Madrid get their campaign up and running against cross-town rivals Getafe who they’ll expect to take maximum points from given their impressive head-to-head record.

Diego Simeone’s men are unbeaten in 21 meetings with the Azulones, registering 18 wins. Back the away win.

9/20 Real Betis | Draw 36/10 | Elche 6/1 (21:30)

Real Betis get their season underway at home to Elche who stunned the Andalusian side 1-0 in this fixture last season.

Manuel Pellegrini’s men will want to avenge that defeat and make a winning start to their league campaign as they aim to break into the top four for the first time since 2004/05. The home win is the way to go.

TREBLE @ 74/10

Valencia Win 8/10
