Friday 16 September

21/20 Valladolid | Draw 24/10 | Cadiz 11/4 (21:00)

We kick the gameweek off with a tie between Valladolid and Cadiz. Valladolid’s difficult start to life in the top flight continued last Friday as they slumped to their third defeat in five games when losing 2-1 at Girona.

As for Cadiz, they were thumped 4-0 by Barcelona which meant a fifth straight defeat in the league for the Andalusian club. The pressure on Sergio Gonzalez’s position will only intensify following another poor performance.

Not with confidence, but back the home win.

Saturday 17 September

12/10 Mallorca | Draw 23/10 | Almeria 5/2 (14:00)

The first game on Saturday sees Mallorca host Almeria. Both sides will be desperate to pick up points from this game after a dismal start to the campaign.

The last time the two sides met was in the 2020/21 Segunda Division, with Mallorca completing a league double over Almeria. The last result – a 2-0 victory in February last year – was Mallorca’s third straight win over Almeria and their fourth in five meetings.

The home win is tipped.

1/10 Barcelona | Draw 17/2 | Elche 22/1 (16:15)

Barcelona’s excellent form continued last weekend with an emphatic 4-0 victory over bottom side Cadiz, with Robert Lewandowski getting on the scoresheet yet again.

The Polish striker netted his ninth goal this term which means he now has more goals than appearances for Xaxi Hernandez’s side.

Against an Elche side leaking goals, take Lewandowski as an Anytime Goalscorer.

14/10 Valencia | Draw 22/10 | Celta Vigo 43/20 (18:30)

Valencia succumbed to their third defeat of the campaign last weekend in a 2-1 loss away to Rayo Vallecano. Gennaro Gattuso will hope to be able to call upon Edinson Cavani after the ex-PSG star was forced to miss the trip to Madrid due to a lack of match fitness. The Bats thumped Getafe 5-1 in their last game at the Mestalla Stadium.

Meanwhile, Celta’s two-game winning streak came to an end with a 4-1 defeat at Atletico Madrid and will be looking to bounce back. Valencia beat Celta home and away in La Liga last season and will fancy taking all three points.

The home win is tipped.

11/20 Athletic Bilbao | Draw 31/10 | Rayo Vallecano 52/10 (21:00)

Athletic Bilbao bounced back from their defeat against Espanyol with an emphatic 4-1 win away at Elche. The victory was Bilbao’s third of the campaign and Ernesto Valverde will be hoping his side continue their winning ways against Rayo Vallecano.

Rayo picked up their second win in the league as they beat Valencia 2-1 last weekend, but prior to that, suffered back-to-back losses against Mallorca and Osasuna.

Back the home win.

Sunday 18 September

7/4 Atletico Madrid | Draw 47/20 | Real Madrid 16/10 (21:00)

Please see featured game

13/20 Real Betis | Draw 28/10 | Girona 44/10 (14:00)

Real Betis have enjoyed a fantastic start to the season bar a 2-1 defeat away to Real Madrid at the start of the month. Manuel Pellegrini’s men have taken 12 points from a possible 15 and have managed wins over Elche, Mallorca, Osasuna and Villarreal.

Betis have won five and drawn one of their six meetings with Girona and will be confident of claiming all three points.

The home win is the way to go.

17/20 Villarreal | Draw 26/10 | Sevilla 33/10 (16:15)

Villarreal suffered defeat for the first time this season in a 1-0 loss at the hands of Real Betis – a result that saw them drop from third to fourth in the table.

Unai Emery will be hoping for an immediate response and will be confident of claiming all three points against a Sevilla team who languish in 16th position.

The home win is tipped confidently.

13/20 Real Sociedad | Draw 29/10 | Espanyol 44/10 (18:30)

Real Sociedad would have understandably been left disappointed with their defeat against Getafe last weekend. After a creditable draw against Atletico Madrid and a superb 1-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Europa League, the Basque side failed to see off a Getafe side who were winless going into gameweek five.

Sociedad will be looking to bounce back strongly in front of their home support and they should get the better of an Espanyol side who have already suffered three league defeats this term.

PREVIEW: The Bundesliga is open this season

Back the home win.

17/20 Osasuna | Draw 23/10 | Getafe 37/10 (18:30)

We close out the gameweek with a tie between Osasuna and Getafe. The two sides have had contrasting starts to the season, with Osasuna sitting in fourth place with 12 points from a possible 15, while Getafe are down in 18th position with just four points. With a 100 percent winning record at home, back Osasuna to pick up all three points. This is certainly one for the multiples.

TREBLE @ 4/1
Real Betis Win 13/20
Real Sociedad Win 13/20
Osasuna Win 17/20
