Arsenal confirm signing of US keeper Turner

Arsenal have confirmed the signing of United States international goalkeeper Matt Turner from New England Revolution.

The 28-year-old was widely expected to complete the move after the Major League Soccer side announced an agreement with the Gunners as early as February.

Now the deal has been confirmed by Arsenal, with Turner becoming their third summer signing following moves for young Brazilian forward Marquinhos and Portugal Under-21 international Fabio Vieira.

Richarlison wants to quit Everton for Chelsea or Tottenham

Chelsea are on the hunt for a Romelu Lukaku replacement and Everton ace Richarlison is reportedly on their list of targets.

Richarlison is said to have made it clear to Toffees boss and Chelsea legend Frank Lampard that he wants out with two years left on his contract.

He would be interested in a move to Chelsea and Tottenham this summer as it would provide him the opportunity to play Champions League football.

Chelsea interested in Man City defender Nathan Ake

Nathan Ake has emerged as a transfer target for Chelsea as the club consider defensive options this summer.

Thomas Tuchel is in search of defensive reinforcements following the exits of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen this summer, with the west Londoners considering a host of centre-back targets.

It has been reported that Man City would be open to selling Ake this summer for the right price which they have set at £50 million.

Ake is not the only City player that Chelsea are interested in as they have also been linked with Raheem Sterling.

Mahrez wants long-term future at Man City

Algerian international forward Riyad Mahrez is reportedly prepared to commit his long-term future to Manchester City this summer.

According to a report from The Sun, with one-year left on his current contract the 31-year-old Mahrez’s future will come up for discussion with City and a contract extension looks to be on the cards.

The 31-year-old is reported wanting a three-year-deal at the Etihad, with the possibility of an additional year later on.

According to The Sun, the Citizens are keen to secure the winger’s long-term future in order to prevent losing him on a free transfer next summer.

Crystal Palace sign teenage Derby winger Ebiowei

Crystal Palace have announced teenage winger Malcolm Ebiowei is to join them on a five-year deal from July 1 when his contract with Derby runs out.

The 18-year-old was handed his Rams debut in February and ended up making 16 appearances in the Sky Bet Championship last term, with his first goal coming in April.

Prior to joining Derby – who went into administration at the start of last season and ended it relegated – in 2021, Ebiowei had youth spells with Arsenal and Rangers.

Chelsea offer Timo Werner as part of Matthijs de Ligt deal

Chelsea have been encouraged by Juventus towards a move for long-term defensive target Matthijs De Ligt, and Germany forward Werner could be offered in a part exchange deal.

Werner has failed to hit his Bundesliga heights at Chelsea but still remains a squad and fan favourite due to his hard-working attitude and upbeat demeanour.

Chelsea are thought to be willing to let the 26-year-old depart this summer however, provided a deal can be struck to suit all parties.

Manchester United close in on Frenkie de Jong

Manchester United are reportedly closing in on an agreement with Barcelona for top transfer target Frenkie de Jong.

According to Goal.com, a breakthrough has been made in the negotiations between the two clubs, with a compromise reached.

Despite only being rated at £54m, Barcelona initially wanted a fee close to £86m, but could now be willing to accept a deal worth £69m.

Vincent Kompany has completed his first signing as Burnley boss with the arrival of midfielder Scott Twine from MK Dons.

Twine, 22, has put pen to paper on a four-year contract after the two clubs agreed an undisclosed fee.

Burnley said on their official website: “Burnley Football Club are delighted to confirm the signing of Scott Twine on a four-year contract from MK Dons for an undisclosed fee.”

Gareth Bale agrees to join Los Angeles FC following Real Madrid exit

Wales forward Gareth Bale has agreed to join Major League Soccer side Los Angeles FC on an initial one-year deal when his contract with Real Madrid expires.

The five-time Champions League winner is soon to be a free agent and is looking for a new club ahead of playing for Wales at the World Cup in Qatar, which starts in November.

Bale, 32, had been linked with a move to hometown club Cardiff following the end of a nine-year stay at Real Madrid, but he now appears set to continue his career with a move to the United States.

Kodisang in talks with Amakhosi

Kobamelo Kodisang is in talks with Kaizer Chiefs over a proposed move, says his representative Mike Makaab.

The 22-year-old Braga B striker is reportedly keen to return to the DStv Premiership as he seeks regular first-team football, having joined the Portuguese side from Bidvest Wits in 2019.

He has a been a reserve team player for Braga over the past three seasons, and made his first-team debut at the end of the recently completed season.

Barcelona reportedly approached former striker Luis Suarez over a possible return but he turned them down.

According to Spanish outlet SPORT, Barcelona approached the 35-year-old Suarez after it was confirmed he would be leaving Atletico Madrid, but the Uruguayan was not interested in a Camp Nou return.

In the summer of 2014, Suarez joined Barcelona from Liverpool and spent six successful years at the Catalans before being shown the exit door by then-Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman in 2020. He then joined Atletico and led them to the La Liga title in 2021.

Nottingham Forest agree deal for Dean Henderson

Nottingham Forest have agreed a deal to sign Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson on loan for the season.

Henderson is an established goalkeeper and he arrives at Forest with 49 appearances in the Premier League already under his belt.

Mntambo and Makume are set to join on permanent deals, while Mabasa’s is a loan switch.

Chelsea are more keen on Raheem Sterling than Ousmane Dembele, according to reports from Ben Jacobs of CBS Sports.

He claims the club are more focused on the Man City winger – who has one year of contract left – than on Dembele, who is without a club, albeit with a deal on the table to stay at Barcelona.

With Thomas Tuchel’s side making Sterling a priority, it leaves Dembele with Barcelona as the only option unless Chelsea make swift a U-turn on their transfer plans.

However, Inter are reportedly ready to offer De Vrij in the deal to sign Gabriel Magalhaes, although Arsenal are expected to be uninterested in such a move.

He’s on the list alongside Bryan Gil, currently on loan at La Liga side Valencia from Tottenham Hotspur.

Cardiff City have opened talks to try to sign Gareth Bale as a free agent.

Arsenal have completed the signing of talented Porto midfielder Fabio Vieira.

The 22-year-old came through the Portuguese club’s youth system and has just helped Sergio Conceicao’s side win the league and cup double.

Vieira, who scored six goals and provided 14 assists in 27 league appearances last season for Porto, becomes Arsenal’s second signing of the summer, having last week completed the acquisition of 19-year-old Brazilian forward Marquinhos from Sao Paulo.

Kaizer Chiefs have parted ways with Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya.

The DStv Premiership side are busy preparing for the upcoming league season and have so far signed eight new players while releasing 12.

Kaizer Chiefs have announced the signing of Yusuf Maart from Sekhukhune United.

The 26-year-old midfielder has signed three-year deal with the option of a further two years and becomes the DStv Premiership side’s eighth signing of the off-season.

The former Orlando Pirates and Cape Umoya United player joins fellow new signings Ashley Du Preez, Zitha Kwinika, Dillon Solomons, Kamohelo Mahlatsi, Lehlogonolo George Matlou and Siyethemba Sithebe at the club, alongside promoted reserve team player Mduduzi Shabalala.

Watford sell Hernandez to MLS side Columbus Crew

Cucho Hernandez has left Watford to sign for Columbus Crew for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old forward was on the books at Vicarage Road for five years, spending four of them on loan in Spain.

 Newcastle keen to push through interest in England keeper

Newcastle hope to push home their interest in Burnley keeper Nick Pope as they step up efforts to bolster their squad ahead of the new season.

The Magpies are one of a series of clubs to have expressed an interest in the 30-year-old England international and are keen to do a deal to bring him to Tyneside.

Pope has spent the last six years with the relegated Clarets and made 141 league appearances for them.

Orlando Pirates have confirmed the signing of a batch of new players as well as a number of departures as they build towards the new season.

Bucs ended the 2021/22 DStv Premiership campaign in sixth place under the stewardship of Fadlu Davids and Mandla Ncikazi.

Davids has since departed the club, and leaves alongside Kwanda Mngonyama, Abel Mabaso, Justice Chabalala, Elson Sithole, Wayne Sandilands and Thabang Monare.

But joining the side are Evidence Makgopa, Bienvenu Eva Nga, Miguel Timm and Azola Matrose.

Sandilands, meanwhile, may be offered a role within the Bucs coaching structures.

Part of a club statement read: “Orlando Pirates Football Club is pleased to confirm the signing of Evidence Makgopa, Bienvenu Eva Nga, Miguel Timm and Azola Matrose.

Eintracht Frankfurt have signed Mario Götze on a three-year deal for a reported €4m fee from PSV.

Kaizer Chiefs have announced the signing of five new players ahead of the upcoming DStv Premiership campaign.

The club’s preparations for the new season began with appointing Arthur Zwane as head coach and Dillon Sheppard his assistant.

They have since moved to strengthen their playing personnel, and snapped up Ashley Du Preez and Zitha Kwinika earlier this month.

Following in their footsteps are Dillon Solomons, Kamohelo Mahlatsi and Lehlogonolo George Matlou from Swallows, as well as AmaZulu midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe, while Mduduzi Shabalala has been promoted from the Chiefs Reserve side.

A club statement read: “Right-sided defender cum wingback, Solomons, is 26 years old and hails from Steenberg in Cape Town. He played 29 matches for Swallows in the last season and was involved in all the four play-off matches for the Dube Birds. He has penned a four-year deal at Naturena.

AmaZulu signings

AmaZulu have secured the signing of Bafana Bafana midfielder Ethan Brooks from TS Galaxy.

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Dumisani Zuma has completed a switch to DStv Premiership side AmaZulu on a four-year deal.

AmaZulu also acquired the services of Malawian international forward, Gabadinho Mhango from Orlando Pirates.

Manchester City confirm the signing of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

The 21-year-old will join the Club on 1 July after penning a five-year deal which keeps him at the Etihad Stadium until the summer of 2027.
