Pep Guardiola’s team have scored 48 goals in their 16 league matches – that’s 32 goals less than the 80 they scored from their 38 matches in the 2016/17 season, at this rate they should smash their goalscoring tot they set last year.

City toppled Manchester United this past Sunday the 10th of December in a 2-1 victory that saw David Silva and Nicolas Otamendi get on the scoresheet. The match was marred by an incident that involved Manchester United coach, Jose Mourinho and Ederson Moraes, at the end of the match when Mourinho asked the City players to show a little respect and stop celebrating so loudly. That’s when Moares threw milk and water on the coach before a scuffle which involved more than 20 players broke out. Romelu Lukaku was deemed to be very involved in it and the only injury was Mikel Arteta who suffered a cut on his eye, before cops and stewards were able to separate the players.

Pep Guardiola’s chargers are relentless on attack this season with the Coach opting for an array of goal scorers in his starting line-up. This formation sees his team scoring at a rate of 3 goals per match, passing at a rate of 723 passes per match with an 89% accuracy. City’s top three scorers come in the form of Sergio Aguero (9), Raheem Sterling (9), and Gabriel Jesus (8), who have netted 26 goals in total. Their midfield is well oiled by Belgian, Kevin de Bruyne, and Spaniard, David Silva, who have 8 assists apiece.

Defensively they’ve kept 11 clean sheets and conceded 11 goals at a rate of 0.69 goals per match. Fernandinho remains solid on defence with his 32 tackles while Otamendi’s work rate is clear with 46 aerial battles won, 56 clearances, and 28 interceptions.

City are well on their way to win the league – but fans should not get ahead of themselves as Pep claims the league isn’t won in December and Kyle Walker urges his teammates to stay grounded and keep collecting the all-important three points.

Swansea is second from the bottom of the English Premier League table and a record-breaking 15th win in a row looks like a sure thing for Manchester City this Wednesday night – 13 December.
