The Black Stars secured their progression to the Third round of qualification after a controversial 1-0 win over Bafana Bafana on Sunday.

Andrew Ayew scored the only goal of the game at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium in Ghana after a penalty awarded for a dive in the box by Daniel Amartey.

The South African Football Federation have laid an official complaint, but the most that is likely to happen is a ban or fine imposed on the officials

Asante Twum told Joy Sports: “That’s (lodging a complaint) is all they can do. We do not think that we gave them a rodeo. The referee on the day was okay.

“We have been to places where officiating did not go our way but we did not even comment, for instance the game against Ethiopia, there were certain bad calls from the referee.

“When we played against Zimbabwe in Cape Coast, there were certain bad calls and we received a penalty against us.

“Yes, we respect their decision going to FIFA, but I’m afraid I don’t think it will change the outcome of the game.

“We won fairly, we fought very hard for it and I’m glad we are through to the next stage.”
