The 29-year-old Sithebe has been strongly linked to Chiefs via media for sometime, including reports suggesting he has signed a pre-contract with the Soweto Giants.

In an interview with Soccer Laduma, Khanye feels it could be a mistake to sign Sithebe by AmaKhosi as the midfielder seems to like playing and passing the ball sideways and does not often make accurate direct passes, seemingly lacking in consistency.

“The boy is talented make no mistake, but he missed out on being developed properly which could have helped him a lot to improve his game,” Khanye told Soccer Laduma.

“He is playing with natural talent, and I doubt he can rise at Chiefs. I don’t understand whether he is a defensive or attacking midfielder, I get so confused by a lot of things when I watch him play.

“I’m not going to be excited about this hype around him because I hardly see him in the box or scoring goals.

“Chiefs right now need a number 10, and I don’t think Sithebe is a player for that role,” he added.
