For the second time in the day, the Champions League draw took place in Switzerland, following UEFA's earlier bungling of the draw.
At the second time of asking, UEFA appear to have got the round of 16 draw for the Champions League sorted. This follows their earlier bungling of proceedings, in which Manchester United were not in the pot when one of the ties was decided.
Moments earlier, United had been paired with Villarreal who they were not eligible to face after the two clubs met in the group stage. After the compromising of the draw in front of the watching world, a decision was reached to void the whole sham and re-conduct affairs after the Europea League and Conference League draws.
This time around, Liverpool drew Iner Milan, Manchester United were paired with Atletico Madrid and PSG got Real Madrid in the three headline clashes of the round of 16.
Elsewhere, Chelsea and Manchester City got favourable draws against Lille and Sporting respectively. Juventus will face off against Villarreal, Benfica will have their work cut out for them against an excellent Ajax side while RB Salzburg square off against Bayern Munich.
