United currently sit in 13th place on the league table with 15 points from 18 games having only won three games along with six draws so far.

The last time Maritzburg won was 11 games ago when they beat TS Galaxy on 23 October.

In their last outing on 22 December when Maritzburg lost 2-0 against Kaizer Chiefs, coach Middendorp spoke of the struggles and frustrations going on with his side.

“It would be a disaster to not be concerned by the situation of the club at the moment from the Chairman and the board, so yeah there’s concerns and it is painful to not get points.

“For me, I would like to continue because we have a good squad and by adding new players we can come out of this,” he said.

Club chairman Farook Kadodia confirmed to Soccer Laduma they would have a meeting this week with Middendorp to discuss the way forward.

“The coach hasn’t returned yet, he is coming back this week and we will have a meeting to discuss the way forward and possible players movements,” Kadodia told Soccer Laduma.
