According to The Sowetan, a source close to the player claims the 23-year-old Mbule would rather join AmaKhosi than Sundowns.

Mbule has struggled with form at SuperSport this season and it is felt a move to new surroundings will spark him back to his best as it appears his heart is no longer with Matsatsantsa.

“People like to spread lies. Mbule isn’t close to joining Sundowns. In fact, the boy favours a Chiefs move more than going to Sundowns. I expect the matter to be put to bed in the next two weeks,” the source told The Sowetan.

Mbule’s agent Mike Makaab tells The Sowetan that only one team have made enquiries about his client, then a day later on Friday, he told Durban-based commercial radio station Gagasi FM that Chiefs had tabled a bid for Mbule.

Other reports doing the rounds, Sundowns have signed 25-year-old Bolivian midfielder Erwin Saavedra from Bolivar and has been capped 18 times for Bolivia. He is thought to have cost in the region of R18m
