Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Hleza Mofedi supports the club’s decision with regard to making no changes to the Buccaneers’ technical team.
In the last few weeks, various coaches have been linked to the head coach role at Pirates, including the likes of Cavin Johnson and Gavin Hunt.
But the Buccaneers have elected to make no changes to their co-coach setup of Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids as the team are playing well and have started getting positive results.
In an interviews with Soccer Laduma, Mofedi said he backs the clubs decision to stick with coaches Ncikazi and Davids in the running of the team.
“For me, the two coaches Mandla and Fadlu are doing very well, and I am happy with their progress. I have been watching them trying different combinations for the team to do well and the results of what they have been doing are there for everyone to see.
“Yes, their starting eleven has been changing quite a lot but that’s because they have been working on finding the right combinations. The way I see it, they have found their winning combination and all that is needed from the team is consistency,” Mofedi pointed out.
The 42-year-old Hleza added there was a clear unity between the players at Pirates which bodes well for the future.
“I am happy that the club has decided to give the two coaches a chance to work longer with the team. What I have noticed is that there is more unity in the team and the team spirit is on a high under the two coaches.
“The players seem to be playing for each other and they seem to be eager to work for the two coaches. What I like about Pirates management is that they always give coaches a chance to prove their worth. They are very supportive to the coaches, and I like that a lot about the club,” added Mofedi.
