After Royal AM’s campaign started with successive defeats, they have won four in a row, scoring 12 goals in the process to make them the highest-scoring side in the league going into their seventh match of the season. John Maduka’s men are in fourth position on the standings and three points behind second-placed SuperSport United with a game in hand.

Marumo have suffered contrasting fortunes as they are winless and have just two points and one goal from their six domestic games this campaign.

Victor Letsoalo has emerged as Royal AM’s talisman as he has netted five times in his last four games to earn him a well-deserved Bafana Bafana callup.

“We are so proud of him, so proud of the players, the way they are working very hard,” Maduka says. “At training he always works very hard, and it pays, it [the reward] comes in the game.

“He’s a striker, he’s a box striker, he loves scoring goals. And we hope that nothing bad happens to him, especially injuries and suspensions, so he continues like this. But it is good to have a player of his calibre in our team.”
