Maritzburg United have announced the signing of five new players to bolster their squad for their ongoing relegation battle.
The Team of Choice have been struggling at the wrong end of the DStv Premiership this season and currently occupy 13th place on the league standings with three wins from 18 games.
They recently confirmed the departures of Bongokuhle Hlongwane and Jose Ali Meza but have strengthened with the acquisitions of Tawande Macheke, Friday Samu, Genino Palace, Steven Pereira and Lucky Baloyi.
Speaking after joining the club, Baloyi said on KickOff: “I am so excited to have joined Maritzburg United and everyone at the club has been so welcoming and supportive towards me ever since I arrived.
“I’ll do my best to contribute to the team and help us achieve our goals for the remainder of the season. I am looking forward to using this opportunity to help the club in any way possible. it feels great to be here.”
Maritzburg boss Ernst Middendorp added: “I am convinced that all of the players will have a crucial [and] productive input for us in the remaining matches of the season.”
