Usuthu have already made history by qualifying for this season’s continental competition for the first time ever.

But far from just making a cursory appearance in the Preliminary phase, Benni McCarthy’s side are in the pot ahead of the Group stage draw, to be held at the CAF headquarters in Egypt towards the end of the year.

Reflecting on his side’s recent win over five-time champions TP Mazembe to clinch their spot, Zungu told KickOff: “You know the starting line-up will always have 11 players, and we will always have 11 players as well.

“And if any team approaches AmaZulu with arrogance while trying to undermine us, we will see them coming and we will “moer” them. We will be equally arrogant.

“The pride of this brand is something we will defend with all our might and we will die with our boots on.

“Even ourselves as fans in the stands, whether we’re playing home or away we will roll up our sleeves if it means we need to defend the pride of Usuthu.

“We did that at TP Mazembe who know we are a loud lot if need be. We are not a docile lot. At AmaZulu we not going to be docile we are loud. We are engaging.”
