The promotion-relegation play-off saga took a new twist on Tuesday afternoon after Royal AM failed to honour their opening fixture with Chippa United.
Despite being pictured arriving at the stadium in their team bus earlier in the day, the National First Division outfit did not take to the field of play ahead of kick-off.
Instead, Royal AM were seen departing the Chatsworth Stadium, having failed to send the team out for the customary pre-match warm-up.
The league’s governing body, the PSL, have yet to comment on Royal AM’s no-show but according to league regulations, Chippa United will be awarded a 3-0 victory due to their opponents failing to honour the fixture.
The PSL have yet to comment on the matter but an official statement is expected in due course.
